About
Named after Assynt, in the far north-west of Sutherland: lochans and bare Lewisian gneiss, some of the oldest rock in Europe, with sandstone peaks like Suilven, Canisp and Quinag standing alone on top of it.
The aim is the same kind of thing: careful, durable tools that still make sense years later.
